During a Bible study hosted in New York City, Sister Maria Luisa Piraquive, worldwide spiritual leader of the Church of God Ministry of Jesus Christ International, received three significant recognitions for her outstanding social, spiritual, and educational work in the United States and around the world.
Official Recognition from New York City
New York City Mayor Eric Adams was present to personally deliver a Certificate of Recognition to Sister Maria Luisa Piraquive, highlighting the positive impact of her work in the lives of thousands through the teaching of the Gospel.
The event highlighted the presence of the Church of God Ministry of Jesus Christ International in over 1,000 locations worldwide, including active congregations in Manhattan, Flushing, and Woodside, Queens.
The Church’s commitment to the community, family unity, and the spiritual growth of generations of New Yorkers was also acknowledged.
Proclamation from the United States Senate
Senator Charles E. Schumer, Senate Minority Leader, issued an official proclamation recognizing the life and ministry of Sister Maria Luisa, from her academic formation in Colombia to her tireless work leading the Church. The declaration honors her leadership, her inspiring role in the community, and her ability to spiritually guide millions of people worldwide.
Recognition from the New York State Assembly
Assemblyman Steven Raga, representative of New York State’s 30th District, presented her with a letter of congratulations highlighting her positive influence, especially in the Queens communities. The document acknowledged her work in spiritual and social strengthening, her commitment to education and human rights, and her impact on migrant communities, including the Filipino American community.
